COVENANT SCHEME – TAX EFFECTIVE GIVING
A way of fundraising for our Parish
Blackpool, The Glen and Ballyvolane Parish can claim thousands of euro
every year thanks to tax-effective giving. This is a straightforward and
simple process which allows your contribution from the first and second
collection to go even further and for us to get the most out of your
contribution.
Any tax payer, either PAYE or self assessed who contributes
250 or more
in a year to the Parish of Blackpool, The Glen and Ballyvolane can fill out a
form and allow the parish to reclaim tax on their contributions.
Since January 2013, higher and standard rate of tax no longer applies.
There is now a composite rate of 31%.
A contribution of
250 is actually worth
362.32 to the parish.
We would encourage people to take part in this scheme by taking a box of
envelopes for each Sunday of the year for the first and second collections.
If anyone is interested in participating,
please contact either Fr John or Fr Damian.

PRAYERS OF THE
FAITHFUL
Celebrant’s Introduction:
God our
Father, we gather to celebrate
together and to pray for our Catholic
Schools and for all who are part of
the Catholic Schools in this Parish.
Intercessions:
1. 1. We pray for the Church of
God in every place; may
Christians everywhere heed the
call of Jesus to follow him.
Lord, hear us………
2. We pray for the teaching staff in
our school, who consistently
come up with new ways to
inspire and challenge us in the
pursuit of excellence. May God
reward their dedication.
Lord, hear us………
3. We pray for all the pupils in the
schools of our parish; that the
light of knowledge and the light
of faith may grow stronger in
their hearts.
Lord, hear us………
4. We pray for all the other staff
members, who we sometimes
take for granted; the Cleaning
staff, the Substitute Teachers
and the Caretakers. May they
be blessed for their
commitment and dedication to
the school.
Lord, hear us………
5. We pray for our parents, the
board of management, the
chaplain and all who come in
contact with our school on a
regular basis. May we always be
worthy of the work that they
do for us and on our behalf.
Lord, hear us………
6. We pause for a moment in
silence for those who have
been associated with our
school that have died. May the
Lord grant them eternal rest
and reward for their dedication.
Lord, hear us………
Celebrant:
Heavenly Father, we ask
that you guide all our thoughts,
word and actions. We ask that you
grant these prayers through Christ
our Lord. Amen.
